Emily Carmen (Bonanno) is a professional educator of special education, gen ed grades 5th through undergraduate level education, as well as mathematics, and music. Ms. Carmen is a professional composer, arranger, orchestrator, producer and studio musician for many known films/television shows and performing artists ( including the hit children’s television show, Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer, Grammy winning
performing artist Macy Gray and multi platinum Grammy award winning producer Jared Lee Gosselin.) Emily has been a music and special education teacher for the past decade and has taught students of all ages from as young as toddlers with severe autism to college level students of all levels of educational and special needs.
Ms. Carmen has taught on both the east and west coast from preschool to high school and even university lecture halls. Music education is a passion of Emily’s and she strives to make each and every lesson in all subject matter always an enjoyable experience full of knowledge
and creativity. Her professional studies include a background studying
mathematics, physics audio/sound engineering and technology and music ed at Manhattanville College, Berklee College of Music,
NYU’s Buddy Baker Film Scoring Program and The Music Conservatory of SUNY Purchase with degrees in Music and Studio Composition. Her studies also
include a decade of study with one on one mentorship numerous award winning
composers, producers, orchestrators, arrangers, and performing artists
including: Grammy winning film composer NYU Professor Ira Newborn (“Ace Ventura Pet Detective,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,”“Blues Brothers,” etc.), Grammy nominated and award winning film score orchestrator Sonny Kompanek (“Goodbye Christopher Robin,” Coen Brother’s film music orchestrator), award winning film composer/producer Richard Horowitz (“Any Given Sunday,” “The Sheltering Sky”), world renowned Grammy winner and honored jazz legend composer and tenor saxophonist, Illinois Jacquet (critically acclaimed and recognized as the first first R&B saxophone solo, “Flying Home”), Grammy award recipient and internationally acclaimed conductor and composer Joel Thome and many more.
Emily is also currently completing her masters in Educational Leadership and is the midsts of planning the foundations of her educational facility intended to open in late 2020 early 2021. The edcuational facility will be even better as it is intedned to be designed as an in person replica of the digital online education found via the Em C Education online programs and consisting of fellow professional educators in all realms of education and grade levels so students of all interests can have the same educational opportunities.
Em C Education Academy is a place where students with different obstacles learn how to use their talents and strengths, primarily in the arts, to overcome educational and general social obstacles students face day to day. It also allows students to achieve their goals of succeeding in a career in the music and entertainment industry being guided by professionals in the industry that have each students best interests as their priority.

-lessons one on one via online-group lessons of more than one student-student discount based upon providing referrals of new student that is signed up for lessons/tutoring sessions-one on one in person/group lessons in person-commuting distance and time frame for in person lessons/tutoring
